Sunny Backyard

I have several new workshops, all online (Zoom), for the spring. These workshops have been carefully created to keep us in harmony with the seasons and to bring you some dedicated time with the aspects of yoga that we don’t often have time to cover in regular classes.

The Yamas and Niyamas  - Monday 1st March 7.30 - 9 pm

£10 (Bring a friend offer - £16 for two places)

(This session has now passed but thanks to positive feedback I am offering this on-demand - please get in touch if you would like to book me for this).

Those of you who are regular students with me will have had some exposure to some of these teachings, but we have never been able to sit with our ten beautiful guidelines for a kinder, more authentic and fulfilled life. I will talk you through the ten yamas and niyamas, and offer some insights about how these might apply to our everyday, modern life. We will follow this with a yoga nidra (relaxation). A PDF handout will be emailed to you.

Intention-setting workshop - Saturday 13th March, 10 am - 12.30 pm (with break)

£22 (Bring a friend offer - £40 for two places)

Whilst our culture tells us that the New Year is a time to make plans and resolutions, we often find that these quickly fall by the wayside. In fact, winter is a season for reflection, so really it’s no wonder. The spring, on the other hand, is a time for looking forward, for inspiration and planning. A time for starting new things.

Drawing on a 12-year career working as a facilitator and trainer in Person Centred Planning, I have brought inspiration from that together with some other tools to create a beautiful new process. This workshop combines yoga with planning tools to explore who and how we want to be in the world (there can be a bit of “what” too, if you are a goal-oriented person!) and to make a plan to move forwards in that direction.

You needn’t come to this workshop with the clear idea of what you want to work on, the process I have created will allow that to unfold. Expect to leave this session feeling inspired, bolstered, empowered and ready. You will get what you need from the session as it is designed to be responsive.

- Movement, yoga asana

- Meditation

- Intention setting (working through prompts, you will need a pan and the template that I will email to for this bit)

- Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation) in which we will “sow the seed” of our intention

I also intend to offer this throughout March and April as something that you can book for me to do with you and a group of friends - please contact me using the 'book now' button for more information!

Spring Lifestyle session - Monday 22nd March, 7.30 - 9 pm

£10 (Bring a friend offer - £16 for two places)

Just after the equinox, let us welcome the spring in earnest and explore a seasonal approach to living through these turbulent times. We will look at all elements of our lifestyle; home, diet, activity and energy levels, as well as the optimum emotional states of the season and how we can work to cultivate them. We will conclude the session by having a physical play with some of the yoga postures and energy moves for the season and a candle-gazing (trataka) meditation. A PDF handout will be emailed to you.

Child's Pose

"Just a note to say how much I enjoyed the retreat. Unlike other yoga classes, I actually really felt like I had experienced a whole body and mind getaway; it was less of a class and more of a huge treat. At the same time, I loved learning about yin yoga. Having never done that before, it was really good to expand my yoga experience and knowledge under the supervision of such generous and skilled teachers. The extra touches and attention to detail like candles, the focus on light, refreshing smoothies and the way the two teachers worked together meant that it was really a memorable and special experience. Can't wait for the next one."
